•1st- Virtual 1.5hrs via Google Meet.

Getting to know each other, and discussing your thoughts on birth. What type of birth are you wanting? What do you want your ideal labor & birth to look like? What are your goals for you and your baby?

Meeting your partner(if applicable), and going over how you see me best supporting you both.

We go over your intake form, any thoughts/questions you have, and start discussing how a birth plan can look. Some childbirth ed which includes common/routine interventions, evidence based care, induction methods, and advocacy. Prepping your mind and body for labor and birth.

Would love for you to take a childbirth class if this is your first baby so you’re in the know by the next time we meet.

•2nd- Virtual via Google Meet or in your home. Plan for 2hrs.

Spending a good bit of time going over how early and active labor are going to look. Stages and phases of labor. Variations and complications of labor, birth, and the third stage. We get into your labor, birth, and postpartum preferences as we build your birth plan (what do you want and/or not want (ie:intermittent monitoring, IV fluids, pain meds, to eat during labor, cervical checks, to move around & change positions, etc). Preparing for the birth you want. Birth environment preferences/setting. Newborn preferences for once baby arrives: delayed cord clamping/leaving cord to go white & limp, immediate skin to skin, hat/no hat on baby, breast/formula/donor milk feeding. Golden hour.

•3rd- In person, in your home. 2hr class.

Would love for your partner to attend if they’re going to be there during labor & delivery. Processing/releasing fears. Going over comfort measures, and pain management techniques during early & active labor. Positions and movements to encourage baby into an optimal position. What to do when early labor begins. Timing contractions. When to go to the birth center, hospital, or call the midwife.  How active labor, birth, and delivery of the placenta are commonly approached in routine births. Where are you laboring at? Am I meeting you at the hospital/birth center/home? Lastly, we will go into the 3rd stage(managed or physiological), the immediate postpartum, and the fourth trimester.

*On call 24/7 from the time you hit 36 weeks.

*Continuous, in-person support during labor and delivery at your chosen location.

*Support for up to 2 hours after birth to capture precious firsts on photo/video, and help with getting baby latched if you’re wanting to breastfeed. Help get you settled and comfortable, and answer any questions you may have before it’s time for me to go.

*1) two-hour home visit during the first week postpartum. This can look so different for every person/family, so we can discuss what you are needing most at that time, so I can serve you best. Some people like to hand baby off and run to take a shower, while others want to sit down and use this time to ask me all of the new baby tips & tricks when it comes to feeding/sleeping/soothing. This is about you, and what you need.
